DJI confirmed the Avata 360 launch event for March 26, 2026, at 12 PM GMT, making it the world’s first native 360° FPV cinewhoop. No stitching required. Just full spherical video capture in a single flight.

This isn’t an upgrade to the Avata 2. It’s an entirely new category. For years, creators had to choose between FPV agility or 360° coverage. The DJI Avata 360 ends that compromise, built from the ground up around spherical video capture, with FPV flight as a core feature, not an afterthought.

Leaked pricing puts the drone-only model at roughly €459, about 31% of the cost of the Insta360 Antigravity A1 at $1,599, currently the only other true 360° FPV drone on the market. If that pricing holds, DJI hasn’t just entered the 360 drone space. It’s looking to own it.

What This Means

The 360-degree drone category barely existed before Insta360 launched the Antigravity A1 last year. That drone proved the concept worked. What it didn’t have was DJI’s flight infrastructure, stabilization technology, transmission systems, the Goggles ecosystem, and a distribution network that reaches every serious drone market on the planet.

For aerial creators, this is the most significant release in years. The dual-mode capability alone, switching between immersive 360° capture and a clean forward-facing FPV lens, gives you two cameras in one aircraft. Add DJI’s ecosystem compatibility, and existing Avata or RC 2 users can get in with just the drone-only option.

Antigravity already read the room. As of March 16, ten days before the Avata 360 launched, the A1 dropped 20% in price to $1,279. The timing is not a coincidence.
